WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO VISIT YOUR SOCIETY TEMPLE REGULARLY?

A good proportion of Hindus do NOT visit temples situated in their vicinity or in their society regularly, but visit some siddh temple almost on regular basis. Siddh means prominent and famous temples
By regular visit to a temple in one’s vicinity, one means here, that the visit could be daily; weekly. However visit to siddh temples on regular basis is done by most of the devotees on monthly, six monthly or annual basis. There is no problem, none whatsoever, in visits to these siddh temples, as visit to these temples is a matter of faith, but here the question is ‘Why is it important to visit your society temple regularly’?

This question arose because of emails we are getting asking us why was it mentioned that one of the rule of Ram Rajya was regular visit to a temple in one’s vicinity. Read: RAM RAJYA… THE FORGOTTEN DHARM!

Let me reproduce from the above post the detail of Dharm:
“Now, regarding the DHARM of RAMRAJYA:
“During Ramrajya everyone had the right to worship any Dev or Devi, any stone or imageless God (Nirankaar). Worship was his personal choice. But one has to go, regularly, to the nearest temple situated in his society or Mohalla. In case one was not visiting regularly (regularly means daily, alternate day or weekly, depending on the choice of the person),the temple situated in the society or mohalla, he would not get any benefit of visiting Siddh temples, situated all over India, or, for that matter, any benefit of performing ‘TEERTH’(Pilgrimage). That was part one.
“The other part, too, was also simple. One had to work, with honest and sincere intent, for the progress of his family, his larger family and the society (one can say mohalla, sector, sub sector, area) in which one was living, and show highest respect and regards to females.
“AND THAT WAS ALL.”
Yes one can see, it emphasizes regular visit to a temple in one’s vicinity. The reason is simple.
The Dharm desires that one should work ‘with honest and sincere intent’ for the benefit of the society, or one say mohalla or sub sector. But to do that one needs an interaction point and the temple in ones vicinity is that interaction point. How can one ensure his/her contribution in the progress of a society without proper interaction?

The progress of the society in which one is living is important Dharm, because this is your gateway to the external world. How can one think of solving much larger problems all around us, if we are immune to the problems in our vicinity? The other thing is that temple happens to be the place of worship, so, the interaction over here would be sincere and positive, and positive actions are required to sort out the problems.
The important thing is that our problems are ours, but most of these problems for solution need external support, and we do sort out our problems. It is but obvious that our positive action to sort problem of the society would also help us.
Remember this issue is important, that is why it is part of the Dharm.

ABOUT MY BLOG: One has to accept that Hindus, though, highly religious, are not getting desired result as a society. Female feticide, lack of education for girls, dowry deaths, suicides among farmers, increase in court cases among relatives, corruption, mistrust and discontent, are all physical parameters to measure the effectiveness or success/failure of RELIGION, in a society. And all this, despite the fact, that spending on religion, by Hindus, has increased drastically after the advent of multiple TV channels. There is serious problem of attitude of every individual which need to be corrected. Revival of Hindu religion, perhaps, is the only way forward.

I am writing how problems, faced by Indian people can be sorted out by revival of Hindu Religion.
